Renting A Crane In Virginia
William had a small construction project up in Virginia. This will entail demolishing an old building and turning it into a miniature mall. Since the structure was located in the middle of the city, it will impossible to destroy using explosives.
The only thing to do for the safety of everyone around will be to use a crane and smash it to pieces. There was just one problem, this person did not have the proper equipment to do it. Luckily there were places on the outskirts of town that are willing to rent this out to customers.
Since William knew that demolishing the building is one thing and getting rid of the debris is another, it was best to look for a company that can provide everything.
This person first check the directory and in the Internet. There were more than 5 firms that rented these machines out. It was only after calling each of the offices that this individual found one that was reasonably priced. The company was called Edwards Inc., which has been in operation for more than 10 years. The decision to choose this over the others was that it has more than 80 different models to choose from that can move objects from 7.5 to 500 tons. The terms were reasonable regardless if this is rented out only for a day or for a long term project. The individual can choose from the inventory since there were models that are either brand new or slightly used. Just like renting a car, someone from the office will inspect the piece of machinery before it is issued out and the same thing will be done when it is returned. This can be rented with an operator to ensure this will be used properly or without if someone in the company is certified to operate the machine. Since the client wanted the groundbreaking in less than 3 months, William had to get the machines immediately to the site. After a week, the old building was torn down and trucks were coming in to take away the debris. Since the mall was a four storey commercial complex, William had to rent cranes to help the workers get the materials such as steel and concrete up at the right levels. There were shifts working so that no time was wasted. This meant there were a lot of people at the construction site during the day and more at night since there was not that much traffic anymore so more things can be done. It wasn’t long that the building was ready for occupancy. The cranes that were rented were returned and paid for so the only thing left was to clean up the place so the tenants may already move in. Renting cranes seems to be more practical than buying one from a supplier. This is because the individual doesn’t have to worry about storage or shelling out a lot of cash since this is not used very often. Though there are people who still prefer to own the unit, William decided not to get one for now since the business was just starting. When more money is made from working with other clients, perhaps this is the time this individual will decide to invest in heavy duty equipment.
